What an amazing day yesterday turned out to be - despite the weather! We never expected the amount of support that we received for our family fun day and we were all truly humbled by it. We won’t know how much was raised until the beginning of next week but it would be safe to say that a very handsome amount will be split between North Westmeath Hospice, the LARCC Cancer Support Centre and the Irish Cancer Society.

The Smyth family would like to invite you all to a family fun day on Sunday 10th July, in aid of North Westmeath Hospice LARCC Cancer Support Centre Irish Cancer Society. These charities are very close to our hearts and we are very grateful for all the help and care they provided to Dad.

As a gesture of thanks to one and all we are going to take a trip to Dublin on Monday 13th June with curry and some treats for 150 of the less fortunate in our society. Yesterday (16th May) Emma and myself headed off to Dublin with some grub to meet with A Lending Hand and their organiser Keira Gill to feed some of the homeless. Each and every Monday they feed as many as 200 people so you can imagine all the effort that goes on behind the scenes as well as serving the homeless in hail, rain or snow under shelter of the central bank - which is somewhat ironic.

Last Thursday, we packed up the van and headed off to the Alan Hanbidge Dairy Farm in County Wicklow to cook up a BBQ for the visitors at their Open Day! Thank you to the hosts for making us so welcome and we hope all the guests enjoyed the food we prepared.
